But it doesn't seem to have an obvious way to search for a campground
near a given city.
It's great if you know the name of the park you want to look at, but what
if you want to see what's close to Walnut Park, CA, for instance. Walnut
Park doesn't show on the large map of CA.

On the home page in the banner on the top there is a place to put in a city or zip code. Perhaps you missed that Ron.
