I know that Ernie Dankert, a friend of Marcus McGee's imight be going there, possibly with his coach. I doubt he follows this list so you might try contacting Marcus for more details.

Hope to see you there.

I'd like to bring my coach from Phoenix. I think I'll have the time, but the estimate on fuel cost is about $1600 round trip. Maybe I could talk a pilot friend or two to ride up and chip in a little for gas (less than a plane ticket and hotel).

Randy, you might want to consider "ride share" on the EAA Airventure website. It is probably a "airplane trip" ride share but I can't imagine there should be too many complaints. Or, if you don't want to ride in your rig with a stranger, bring a friend.

I usually walk thru CAmp Scholler some time while I am there and have seen GMC's there.

I am hoping that someone can arrange a lunch get together, or something like that. I will be camped under my wing in the Cessna 195 area, Vintage parking, along 18/36, about midfield. Grey and White 195, the only one in our group of that color I suspect. Stop by.

I wonder if getting there on Saturday or Sunday would be early enough to snap up a spot in Scholler with hookups? Dry camping would be a little more hassle.

Looks like I won't be taking the GMC this year. The elderly gentleman I was going to take with me can't come and it seems foolish to take it just for me.

Yup, I am going, or intend to. Not staying onsite, and traveling with college buds. Rochester to Chicago to Milwaukee to Menasha WI.

Radio changed out and works. MSD module repaired and calibrated. Screen door (Birch)installed and semi tuned. Rear camera half way. Gotta snake wires, oh the joy.

Now I discover the headlights don't work (both). The parking and running lights work. Had to close shop for my daughters' HS graduation.

Anyone know where the headlights are grounded?

On the way back to Rochester NY we are loitering for a day or two in Detroit (Ford Museum/Greenfield Village).

Ernest,

I hope you found your light problem.

If you are getting to HFGV for the first time:
Investigate the cost of other classes of membership/admission - there may be gains to be had.
Wear comfortable shoes. The museum is 18 acres - that is the inside part - not the village.
Plan of at least a day in each and maybe a stop again on the Amana run.
(If you decide you will come back, you can get the day's admission credited to a membership before you leave.)
If you want to see the Titanic exhibit, do it now as it will be closing when you are home bound from Amana.

Matt
