unrelated, then to steering,
finished my ramps, 2 long ones for back and 2 short ones for the front, i have not used but i am confident they will raise coach approx 8 inches, 22 2x6x8 treated and 5 lbs of screws. 11.5 inches wide, longs ones are close to 8 feet long, short ones are a little longer than 4 feet.
if you seek pics , then send me email and i will forward pics from work phone

back to steering,
i removed my lower shaft assembly, the boot was holding more water than grease, time for new boot
i did notice when i tried to turn assembly before removal, coach not running that assembly could easily rotate maybe 3/4 inches, which as seen looking at steering wheel maybe 2 inches or so. is this normal?
that was with me grabbing joint assembly by hand.
the boot kit, i know the big one covers the joint as seen in parts book page 16-6 item number 8. the second boot in kit, what is it meant to cover?
are these normal over the counter parts? i know jim has but i assume including shipping i might save a few dollars getting local. I removed this with wheels straight but my steering wheel is off approx 30 degrees or so, am i asking for trouble if i straighten steering wheel up before i attach?
and of course, any additional input related to this is appreciated. thansk to all
brian
