Me again with another question. With the other repairs I need to make I don't want to spend a big chunk right now on an upgraded replacement airbag system and just want to replace the existing W01-358-9294 bags. A local vendor crossed the number over to a Triangle AS-8423 (I have a drawing of this but it's too big to upload here and I can't get it to show up on gmcphotos.com either) Anyhow, my question is; the air fill side of this replacement bag, as well as most of the others I've found is different than the original. Mine have a threaded stud on each end, these all have one threaded stud on one side, and two seperate fittings on the fill side. Is there an adapter plate or something I can buy to make this work or am I missing something? My company does quite a bit of business with this vendor so he said he would sell them to me for $105 each, which is great if it would work. Thanks again

I wish there was a picture somewhere on the Internet we could look at. Without seeing it, it is very difficult to visualize what you are trying to make work.

The 9294 is not the original airbag. The original is no longer available new. I make an airbag system very similar to the oem system which uses the 9294 Firestone airbag. I would not recommend the triangle version as it has not been tested with my system nor any other system to my knowledge. Some have purchased my system and had clearance issues to the inner fender well. All but one with this issue has substituted Airtech airbags rather than the Firestone to save a few bucks. The Airtech bags run wider by 1/2" diameter which creates a clearance issue. I dont know what differences there are between the Firestone and triangle airbags and don't care too much to find out. Sometimes going too cheap is just too costly. Check out the different airbag systems available and look at the specs carefully. There is a comparison spreadsheet out here somewhere. May e someone will reply with it. Check out my system here.

Neither the triangle or the Firestone of the part number you listed are the original airbag. On my website there is a picture of the original and the 9294 side by side.

Am I not seeing this correctly? To me the the airbag looks like there are two fittings in the top of the picture and no threaded stud? Also, is it necessary to replace the cones that I currently have? They appear to be in good shape based on my limited knowledge.

According to Firestone, there are two threaded studs
at the top of the airbag. One is 3/4-16 with a hole for
inflation. The other stud is 1/2-13. You need the Sully
brackets to mount this airbag.

here is a link to the spread sheet that compares the airbag / systems.
http://goo.gl/Fdqjj
this link shows a lilnk to the newest version of the spread sheet. go to
the lilnk shown if you can read a spread sheet. There are several "bolt
on" bag replacements. All of the new systems are shown on this
gmcphotostore album so you can look at them

HERE is a link to the FIRESTONE information on the OEM air bag

go to the links to see how to age your bags, and what can cause problems

The original Firestone air bag that is used on our coach is still
available new, but is not a good choice dollar wise and only available
from a few sources. Sully's replacement air bag mounts and the 9294
Firestone air bags cost less (about $700) for both sides complete,
than a single new original Firestone air bag (around $800). The
choice is your, but I vote for the Sullybilt system. Best bang for
the buck and it works well.

After looking at that picture, I do have an OEM system. Now it makes sense to me why I couldn't find this type of airbag. Looks like I'll be doing the upgrade too. Thanks
