Do not expect to get a Florida title for this one without further evidence of being a former Florida vehicle. This state has gotten very tough on reissuing any kind of titles.

For vehicles of that age, Georgia requires only a bill of sale -- until
after a GA title is issued, then the title is required.

first of all. all states differ. but below is usually the normal what i have found in my research:
the term "abandoned vehicle" is not a good term to use with any government agency when trying to obtain a title.
Usually when property is abandoned. it needs to be sold at auction. they do not like the idea of "someone left this here, so now I want a title for it".
just say you bought it and they could not find the title, or the title is lost or something like that. as soon as they hear the word "abandoned" they don't like that.
there are ways to get titles. You can approach a judge and have then "force a title" or you can bond titles in some states. and some just require bill of sale. easier on our older vehicles.
there can be cost with all the above. sometimes getting a title in another state with lesser restrictions. then transferring it to your state, you get stuck with fees, taxes. or who knows what.
going to a judge, costs some court fees.
so you really have to do your research, and be smart going into the "no title" situation. I have seen success stories. and I have seen people really get screwed. if an auction place at one time sold something as "parts only/no title". sometime that VIN gets branded in the systems. and states/judges will not issue a title. that one I have seen come up surprising after all thought was good.
it can be a gamble that pays off, or a person can be burnt.
