Ah, the fun and games.
Finally getting to the change out on the headers and exhaust.
Nine out of ten manifold bolts came out with only some complaining.
Number ten? Hah! broke right under the bolt head. No luck getting it out today, will try one more time tomorrow, then break out the giant drilling machine.
Left side header is in place, and I'll retorque again in the morning. Really, the hardest part was just fitting it over the oil dipstick tube. (And constantly dropping a wrench.)
When all is done, I'll post some pictures.
Oh, and the manifolds that were in? Looked fine; no cracks, no breaks. Although there was very little gasket remaining under the right side manifold.
If anyone wants the manifolds, make me a reasonable offer+shipping.
I'll post further progress if there is any.

There ALWAYS has to be ONE BUZZARD bolt in a set.....hope you can get it out.

Whoopee!
Put acetylene torch to the bolt. It took two applications of heat, but I was able to back the bolt out.
Now the other header is in.
I'll get back at the rest of the installation on Saturday, I just don't feel like laying on wet ground anymore.
Just in curiosity, anyone know what the manifolds weight? I could take a scale out to the garage, but why do that when I can just ask?

Lordy! This thing keeps multiplying!
Now, the propane line must be moved to get the muffler in place.
I think I'll extend the hose coming off the tank, going thru the compartment floor further aft. Then loop thru openings between frame and floor where the floor slopes up, and continue to the existing line. Since propane only supplies stove and furnace I only have a single feed line on driver side of coach.
Oh, and while in the gas compartment; all the spray (or glued) on insulation is falling apart. Any suggestions to replace that?

Latest update! Everything is in.
I had two new pieces of propane line built, moving it some what away from the new muffler.
The muffler itself was a bear to get in; the fit between the last cross-wise frame and the diagonal aft was tighter than you could imagine. The muffler is actually 1/2 inch out of alignment on the back end. To make the tail pipe work I ended up grinding an enlarged hole in the diagonal, and then fitting in the tail pipe.
I had thought I would also add heat shields at the gas tanks, but I really can't see how that might be done until the tanks are dropped out.
Pictures will be posted soon.

I hope you put a heat shield on top of the rear muffler. One coach caught fire a few years back because the heat shield was missing.

All this talk (actually any)about fires has me wondering; how have others treated the area above the rear muffler? Emery, thanks for the pictures. They do,and don't, help I see where you banded a shield to the top of the muffler, and I have a some what similar solution, but I'm wondering more about what has been done above that.
Have you been removing the foam above the aluminum and under the plywood? Are you then allowing more air space above the muffler?

No, there is no air space above the shield but there is plenty of air space between the muffler and the shield.
At first I checked the temp of the floor above the muffler but it wasn't that hot.
It has been there for 9 years now with no problem.

I also followed Emery's example and installed a rear muffler exactly the same way Emery did. I have had no problems.
The only one I heard of burning caught fire because someone had the job done and the mechanic either forgot or did not bother to install the heat shield.
The Flowmaster provided heat shield did the job just fine for me.
There is plenty of cooling airflow around the muffler with that heat shield installed. I did absolutely nothing to the floor.
I did reroute the propane line a little when I did the job.
Thank Emery for originally developing this system.
