Thanks all! I agree about all the buttons and settings. I have a JVC in
my Toyota. It was installed ten years ago. Whenever I have to disconnect
the battery, that thing loses all the settings and I have to go online
(lost the manual years ago) to find out how to set my preferences again.
All I ever listen to is CD's or the single crappy FM station here in Ely.

For a GMC - or any traveller's ride - the feature I like most on the newer radios is the seek or scan mode. I let it scan till I hear something I like... or I keep pushing SEEK for the same.
For fun n games, what CDs do people carry? I have hundreds, my last trip was to STL, I ran The Essential ETC, excerpts from Verdi operas, The Near Myths' first and second CD, Sara Maisel, the Bobby Bare box set, and a couple of discs I produced which have everything from The Grand March (Aida) to Smashing Pumpkins to George Jones, with Sarah McLaughlin and Judy Collins someplace in the middle. I have eclectic tastes.
I'm currently picking fanfares and marches for an upcoming dog show for the Groups. So far, I got The Anvil Chorus, The Grand March, the fanfare from The Comediennes (Gayne), third movement fanfare from The Three Cornered Hat (DeFalla), sone Bartok, and some Dvorak. If I add the William Tell overture and a bit of Bolero I'll have eight, which will make 7 groups and BIS.
The guy next to me in STL neered at the GMC (he had a half - mill Newmar full of ratdogs) until I put the boy ont he grooming table and fired off the above on the CD player. He ended up drinking beer with me and arguing the relative merits of various audio formats,.

There's a googaw out there that plugs into the cigarette lighter, er,
power port that will maintain enough charge to keep your vehicle's
settings. It has its own battery. If I find a link, I'll post it.
