Recently posted a thread on moving tb's back 2" for blown socket but another question which came to me while I was showing my wife pictures of the sockets and tb's, is there a correct orientation of tbar from the setting of the cast in "line" on the end between the numbers and the L&R marks?

Skip,

If you're asking about angular orientation of the line, no, I've never
heard any suggestion of that being important. Nor can I imagine any way it
could be. Just make sure the L is on the driver's side of the coach, fore
or aft, and the R on the passenger's side (now there's a statement that's
sure to generate discussion). :-)

Believe it or not, sometimes that isn't the way it works. I just recently discovered that our 10" trailer brake parts are marked L for the passenger side and R for the driver's side. The hardware sets are standard parts used across the industry and apparently that's the way it has been for years and brake technicians know that. Putting adjusters on the wrong side doesn't work very well. Our maintenance folks aren't brake experts so now we need to either repackage the hardware kits or create instructional videos. Of course we then had a discussion of whether to use curb or street side or driver or passenger side. Maybe we source this stuff out of Australia Smile

Might be a torsion bar.  Might be a throttle body.  It depends on the context of the message.
