I replaced the motor mounts this afternoon on the Onan. It was not a lot of work for this shade-tree wannabe though there were times I doubted I'd be able to remove them. Then I started pulling out bolts and it was easy!

I was going to replace the starter bracket, as my starter doesn't engage very often. I have the RAGUSA bracket from Jim K but I think my beloved PO already installed one! Now I think it's time for a new starter.

I'm more confident about the Pertonix upgrade. Maybe I'll do the upgrade soon.

Where did you get the motor mounts and how much. Every coach must need them as rubber has a service life we have exceeded 3 x by now.

Larry, you get the Pertronix and go to a rally. I carried mine for 4 years. Then, the right moment came, Ken B, Blaine M, and Larry D jumped right in. "We" had it done in no time at all. Now, I am thinking I will buy the Onan mounts and see how long I have to carry them. Ain't it tough just trying to be a "shade tree" kinda mechanic??? Very Happy

Talk to Jeff at Alex sirum gmc. I know he carries them and they are cheap. Bounds and Kanomata probably as well but I spoke to Jeff about them specifically a year or so ago.

Dan,

Don't sell yourself short. You had to work for it, all right. Scooping ice cream can be real work!

I bought them from onanparts.com for $13.50 each.

But the old mounts looked pretty good to me. I replaced them because I had visions of the starter motor sitting on the frame and causing my starting problems. Now I know it's the over-running clutch that is bad.
