Hey Hommer
I had a custom trailer built for my mini. It is very low to the ground and with 6 foot ramps a breeze to load. I race the mini so if something happens at an event and the wheel falls off it will be hard to flat tow home.
Just had them both out yesterday and didn't think to take a pic.
with the mini on the trailer behind the GMC
I have a tow bar but will only use that if the car quit or ran out of gas and needed to be towed home (I am my own road side assistance) the tow bar is a fold-able one from princess auto (like harbor freight) I bolted it to the subframe.
but again I am not planning to tow very far, the real reason for the tow bar is because you are not allowed to rope-tow anymore.
I would have no idea on fuel cost (in either the mini or the GMC I close my eyes when filling both)
but with the car weighing less then 1500lbs can't see where the GMC will even know it is there. and again under 2k pounds with trailer don't think it will be noticed. I do not have any braking system on the trailer (not required under 3k lbs around here)

Once you replace everything that is attached to something else. It will all be fixed.

Homer,
Towed a 1962 MG 1100 from Corpus Christi to Virginia Beach, 4 down, with
possibly no problems. It was a 4 speed manual, front wheel drive. I did
have a CV joint failure a few years later, but, I used to tow a 16 foot boat
up and down boat ramps on the base in Corpus Christi. I used a home made
tow bar to hook it up to my station wagon for the trip to Beach.

Not to this message, but for your sanity and keeping off the spammers lists, do not put your e-mail address with the "@" sign on this or any other list. Use the word "at". Humans will understand the meaning, and spybots, etc will by-pass it because it does not met the normal e-mail address format.
