Saw a 26' GMC, painted beige/tan with brown stripe, towing a white Honda CRV, flying East on the Interstate at Vicksburg, MS. Time was 2:00 pm. I was going the other way.
Anyone we know?

O wow, cool. I used to live in Columbus. Tell us more when you get home and have time. My great, great, great grandfather is buried in the Confederate Cemetary there.

Raised here, in the middle of Columbus. We've had motorhomes for the last 30years but this is our first GMC. Some say I've lost it as this is a far cry from our Allegro Bus but just something I've always wanted to play with. Trying to bring this one back & having fun with it.
Got a lot to learn; trying to do airbags now as well tuning 455 & gen- set.
Thanks, Bilco

Bill,

Welcome to the group/family/cult/asylum.

I am hoping you are safe and secure in Columbus, MS by now.
Many of us have had other RVs and coaches. I'm on my third.
You will soon find that the coach and the community it brings you into are unlike what you have known before.
Being a lifelong waterman, I liken it to the relation that we have with out vessels. More than just another thing you own, but a partner in your life adventures. For this reason, I like to welcome new owners with an altered version of how a new owner or vessel would be properly greeted;

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Bill and Company

Matt

I can personally recommend the "Sullybilt" air bag
replacement. I would recommend direct contact with
Sully to determine if your coach might be one that
is subject to a clearance problem.

I believe, however, that this problem shows up ONLY
if you get a set of bags other than the specific
air bags he used in the design of his system.

Contact Todd Sullivan at sgltrac@gmail.com

Sully installed mine at the Shawnee convention as
the demo he did in front of everybody.

bill russell from camping world here in fullerton ca. just sold one of his two gmc's for $25k, he stated he put 1,500 in the dash alone although.

He is a great guy if anyone gets in this area for he has owned lots of these. He is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about them.

Camping world is on interstate 5 and north of the 91 freeway about 3 miles on the west side of the street. If anyone gets in trouble in the anaheim area

this is a great place to have help from one of ours. He has owned them for decades and buys from jimK as well.

he does not work on engines. But he knows it all about them if you need help.

A sort of black list potential person in my area. I list this just for information if anyone needs help by disneyland.

gmc sightings

faithfully, mickey

Bill,

You'll find a lot of folks here with gobs of knowledge. Theses coaches are a lot different than an Allegro Bus, and a whole different vintage. But they are so much fun to tinker with and even more fun to go places in.

Could I suggest that you include some information in your signature about the coach and your location? I find it very helpful to know when I'm responding, although most of my responses can be categorized as "comedy relief." (at least I find them funny) Using the forum it's easy to create a signature, and most email programs allow different signatures to be chosen.

Congratulations on the new rig! I can't wait to hear your impressions and your plans for her.

Ok so that's Tom Phipps in Vicksburg MS, me in Jackson MS, and now Bill in
Columbus MS. Maybe when my back heals up from surgery we can do some "play
dates" as Tom's wife Marilyn calls them. :)

Back surgery is no fun, and no laughing matter. Keep well and I hope your new bride is taking good care of you.

I was thinking of the Barn Queen today while talking to a friend of mine. He was talking about an article he read long ago in Car and Driver in the good old days “...when what’s-his-name was running the place.” “David E. Davis?” I asked and he agreed that was the fellow who really knew how to run the magazine, etc. Well, I hope I have my names straight but I told him of your Barn Queen and how you bought it from him (or his estate). As I am not lacking for wind I continued to tell him of your wonderful videos and the important plot twist of a villain - hornets, wasps, or any nasty flying creature with daggers.

We both enjoyed a few fun moments talking about that wonderful find and how your Palm Beach is more of what I was looking for.

I hope your recovery is swift and successful.

So far ,there is a lot to learn. We just plan to bring it back up to operating condition and have a little lo-key fun traveling.

I appreciate everybodies help and I'm sure I'll need more sooner or later.
All our best,
