weekend camping at jordan lake, nc approx 70 miles one way from home, most on 4 lane
state park, beautiful place to camp. every one in nc should not pass up. fish jumping, but due to my skills i mainly fed the turtles. but a bad day catching is still a good day fishing. water front site $ 22 a night with water and power. clean, roomy, wooded, and quiet
first time wife drove gmc.her comments to me were
gas pedal too hard to push (does everyone have 2 springs on carb at throttle return?)
gas smell for 10 or so seconds when taking off, everything. not heavy but there. no leaks can be found???
steering seems to have a little play and wheel off center,
and of course brake light had to come on with 30 miles to go coming home , pedal did not seem to fade?? i assume time to bleed and inspect,
over all excellent weekend,
using water hook up in propane compartment i liked muched better than city hook up on drivers side. when tank filled and overflowed when full i just turned water inlet off til needing to refill. the little water in propane compartment to me seemed less trouble then the little water on drivers side which is in power hook up area.
water from hot water heater is very hot, (is there and adjustment?)
frig, (2 door domestic ac/dc type) i plugged in the afternoon before we left to get it cold and charge batterys. all seemed fair, but ice took way to long to make (2 small trays).
i also wondered if seal had issue since hing side of doors appeared to close tighter on seal that left side. same on both doors. are seals easily found to replace? i am thinking soaking in soapy water for day or 2 and maybe reversing 180 degrees??
genny fired right up, front overhead ac ran on medium did fair job of keeping us cool on trip home. heat that morning took nip out of coach. over all, most things work fair to good, a few bugs as i would expect, but i was pleased.
first try at using my new coleman deep fryer. type that runs off of the one pound propane tanks. i thought it took longer than expected to heat oil to temps for fries, but 2 large taters fried in approx 10 minutes i one batch. cooker is bulky, but i think worth the discount price coleman had on there site/
