I was helping a friend with a seat belt that wasn't working. When I removed the retractor cover, the spring assembly rolled across the floor. Seemed like an easy fix, I rolled the belt all the way in manually and reinstalled the spring and its' cover. Then the belt wouldn't release. Time was short and the friend had to leave. Anyone know how it is supposed to release when fully retracted, any special procedure for installing the spring? I'm starting to think the spring had been removed so the belt could be pulled out because of the release problem.
