Starting with a Cascaders Rally in White Rock, BC we head across Canada and
return through the States. Many GMC owners in Canada have stepped
forth with an offer to assist us with finding a place to camp and
guide/direct us to the "Can't miss seeing" spots. This is a rolling rally
and at this
time I do not know how many coaches will be traveling with us.
Our start date is August 2nd to 6th for the White Rock rally and rolling on
the 6th.
Getting into the Maritime Provinces in September and leaving
them at the end of the 3rd week of September.
Right now I see ourselves in the New York Sept 25th, Washington DC area
September 28th. Coming from the Landcaster Penn Area.
From Washington DC we head to Gettysburg then onto Pigeon Forge from there
to New Orleans October 4th.
We have to be in Galveston by late Oct 6th.

You will be coming down the Blue Ridge area right as the leaves change. If you are coming down the Western side (I-81) to Pigeon Forge, you will have great access to the Blue Ridge Parkway in several areas. Some of the best are going to be inconvenient for you, farther east and south then you are headed if you are married to Pigeon Forge, but there are great areas in Southern Va to drive some very scenic miles.
If you are a history buff, in Lexington, VA Virginia Military Institute has an excellent on campus museum and right next door is Lee Chapel on the Washington and Lee campus, which is a very nice museum as well. Both campuses are less than 15 minutes off the interstate and there is a decent campground about 30 minutes away at Virginia's Natural Bridge. I will warn you that downtown Lexington has narrow, non-GMC friendly streets if both sides have people parking on them.
If you are willing to go farther out of your way to the East and South, hit up the area around Grandfather Mountain in NC. There is a beautiful small campground that is found not far away, Linville Falls, that is right off some of the best areas of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
If you come through Chattanooga you MUST go see Rock City. Just an amazing old school roadside attraction. You can get your GMC up there, especially if you are familiar with mountain driving. Ruby Falls is also neat, but of the two I recommend Rock City.
I'm sure there is a lot more, including the Natchez Trail, the Tail of the Dragon, Graceland if you go through Memphis, Elvis's boyhood home in Tupelo, MS, or some of the old plantation homes that can be found along the Mississippi River in Mississippi and down toward New Orleans.
That doesn't even count some of the wonderful campgrounds if you decide to go south on 65 to Montgomery, AL and to the Gulf Coast before taking I10 west to New Orleans. Many are right on the beach. There are also campgrounds in MS attached to the Indian Casinos that are fantastic if you are interested in a little gambling. Full amenities, inexpensive, and transportation to the casino floors and restaurants.

Not sure why you want to go to washungton, DC then back north to Lancaster and Gettysburg, PA. then south again. I will be glad to show you and your group around Gettysburg or at least give you an itinerary to follow that will allow you to view the important spots. I suggest you reserve a place to stay n Gettysburg as that is a busy time of the year for tourists, likewise Lancaster. I will also give you a one day itinerary for Lancaster if you want. If you stay in Lexington, VA there is a County RV park at Buena Vista that is reasonable and has hook ups.The name of the park is Glenn Maury.
