Hi, Can someone PLEASE help me. The last time I had my GMC worked on, I took it to the mechanic with a Full tank of gas and the Gas Gauge worked. When I picked it up - the gas gauge no longer worked it read empty on FUEL and Past Full on Auxillary. It had sat behind the mechanics garage for several days & the first thing I thought of was the gas had been siphoned. We were leaving on a camping trip today, so not really knowing if I had gas or not - I decided to try to put a little gas in just in case because the nearest gas station from here is 45 miles. After pumping 20 gallons it started gurgling so I quit pumping. When I drove out of the driveway - I noticed that I left quite a bit of gas on the ground. Not knowing just what to do - I drove immediately over to the mechanics garage a few blocks away & beings it is Sunday, no one was there. I got down on the ground and looked underneath and the Gas Tanks were not leaking. Toward the Front, to the Left of the Muffler if you were standing behind the Motorhome - there was a steady run of gas coming from a round Hole in a Metal thing. This Metal thing has a round hole that looks like it has threads on it and should have a cap on it and is bigger than a quarter. It doesn't look like a hole that just developed there - but one that was made there for a purpose Keep in mind I am an elderly woman that knows NOTHING Mechanical. I immediately got a pitcher out of the camper and by this time it was just dripping steady so i waited to see if it would slow down and finally it quit dripping. I reached up in the hole to see if I could find out what this was and could feel something inside besides a lot of black gung. It feels like there is something up there like wet paper. Of course it started dripping again for a short while but then quit again. Can anyone tell me Why is the Gas Leaking from this Round Hole. Is the Fuel Filter anywhere near this? Of course with the Gas leaking out of this Hole - I was too worried to go any further and cancelled the Camping Trip - left the Motorhome in the Mechanics Driveway - unhooked the Tracker and came back Home.
