Bruce,
You are going to like it. It was one of the first mods I made to my coach after the 'buzz box' cooked all the water out of my house batteries. Contrary to what Bob said, I have never heard any annoying fan noise. I sometimes leave the door to the electrical compartment open to aid in cooling, when I know it will be charging really hard (such as when dry camping and running the Onan for an hour or two in the late afternoon or evening). The fan on my cheap HF 750 watt inverter makes more noise under a high load than the PD9245 does.
I ran a #6 wire directly to the pos cable terminal in the back of the compartment and another #6 to the ground. I then ran another #6 from the pos terminal to the 12-V fuse block. My battery meter (a Trimetric 2025) shows a charge rate of 40+ amps going into the batteries when they are low. The rate drops as they charge up.
