I took my first trip with the new Silverton Airbag setup and JR Slaten valves. SWEEEET! I drove 3.5 hours each way and could count the number of times the pump kicked on on the finger of one hand. It stayed up all weekend in HOLD with us getting in and out multiple times and the 2 of us sleeping in the back 2 nights with NO dropping. Hooray! It finally works the way I hoped it would.

JR's valves are expensive but worth the money because the just don't leak like the originals.

Mac, your leaks were at the line fittings not the leveling valves. You may only need to tighten them(best case) or remove them and clean them in the seal area. Worst case you will need to remove the fitting at the end of the line and replace it. I can get u new dot fittings for the ends of the line. They ain't cheap ($12 each I think) but they go in without a fight and seal well. Do you have a Six Robbles near you? If not, they are on the web. That is where I purchased the fittings I brought to Shawnee to make sure I had all I would need in case I shredded a frozen fitting or cracked a brittle air line during my installs.

Mac,
Here's a link to the McMaster Carr catalog for the tube fittings:

On the left side of the page you will see "Narrow By"
Click on:
Material = Brass
Inch/Metric = Inch
For Tube OD = 1/4
For Tubing Material = Nylon
This SHOULD bring up all the different fittings you will need to replace
leaky ones.

I thought he was electro level I.
No JR valves required. A little bit of soap and a few hose connectors at $2.00 each is all that should be required. If there is a leveling valve problem, new ones are available from Jim K and others. Also Dave Lenzi has rebuilts for $68.00.

Thanks, Sully and Rob for your most useful information.
I've printed out the six pages of the McMaster catalog
and will use it to replace any bad fittings.
I also bought a set of Dave Lenzi's adjustable arms to
replace the stamped metal originals on my coach, one
of which is bent. Hopefully I can it all back to working
as was intended.
I do figure that the GMC folks designed things for good
reason and a return to OEM is a valid objective in most
cases. Upgrades that are actual improvements are good,
though!
