We pulled into Al & Marti Samsel's front yard yesterday around 3 PM to find
about 70 GMC's parked there! Quite the crowd on the "first day" of the
rally. Had a afternoon of visiting and an as-usual wonderful pot luck
dinner. We're about to leave the Best Western to go back to the fun (part
of it will be harassing Jim K, who arrived by air, about something -- yet
to be determined).

Ken,

More importantly inquiring minds want to know if you got your fair share of
the banana puddin'?

Hi Ken, ...thanks for posting my pictures from Bean Station last year. Good job.

My wife and I won't be able to make it to Bean Station this years as we have a granddaughter being graduated from ETSU this week end and thought both events my be a bit much for my old clay temple. And to think I'm going to miss meeting Jim K. in person! Not good.

Seventy coaches. Wow. Sounds like fun I'm sorry to miss.

I DID get my share of banana pudding -- but someone beat me to "cleaning
the pan". :-)

Another great day of friends & fun. The pit stayed busy and kept lots of
us straw bosses entertained. Rick continued tracing the results of his
mis-connected battery. Got a new alternator after he found the BATT
connector shorting to the housing -- I'm not convinced that was really his
fault; more likely just fatigue, IMHO. I left BS for the motel just before
dark while he was still installing.

More fun tomorrow.

Well, sounds like you got a good one, Jim, especially if she wanted to go
to any kind of GMC gathering on her honeymoon. Congratulations and much
happiness for the future. Sandra and Bob

Sandra, you don't know the half of it. We will be leaving Bean Station on Sunday and head for the Keys for a rally starting Wedesday with the Sunshine Statesmen. Oh, and and at the wedding were Sunshine Statesmen, Dixielanders and Tidewater Crabs.

Who knew.

I guess I'm a lucky SOB (and not Some Other Brand).

Sorry about the erroneous GMC count! The actual attendance, I was later
told, was 50 coaches, out of 51 scheduled. The 70 was a figment of my
imagination -- the yard looked full to me!.

Nope, no photos. I did take a camera, but managed to leave it 15 miles
away at Best Western every day.

If someone has some, we need to get them to Bdub for the Dixielanders web
site.
