I am going to try to start the engine in a parts coach.
The engine hasn't been started in over two years, but the coach hasn't moved in over 10 years.
1. I removed the spark plugs and squirted oil in the cylinders.
2. I will also ground out the coil wire.
3. I will have an auxiliary gas source for the carb.
4. I have the distributor out and was wondering what direction to turn the oil pump. Is it clock wise or counter clock wise? I believe it is clock wise as I removed the distributor the gear mesh rotated the distributor ccw.
Is there any other precautions I need to take?

I just did this on an engine 2 or 3 months ago. I'm sure it was CCW. Spin it with a drill and a 5/16 socket. (if I remember correctly.) Then look down the distributor hole and you will see oil moving around if it is spinning in the correct direction.
That is a good way to check in case my memory is wrong.
