Any ideas out there for window cornices for mini blinds. We need to keep
them from drooping straight. We have a Kingsley with rear bed...curved
corners are a pain!

Jim Bounds does a nice job of making valances that keep the blinds from rattling and from hanging down straight. They are curved to match the side panels of the coach, and he covers them in the "pleather" material.

Pictures of these valances are available on the GMC photo site. Folks have also made them from wood, but I think Jim's plastic ones work very nicely.

Nancy,
I made our window valances out of 2 X 4 inch white downspout pipe and
covered it with fabric. You can see it in this picture, the sides are
cut for the curve of the coach wall.

Jim K also sells a kit for the coach.

I am sure that Jim B also has a Kit.

Nancy, lots of options here, as you can see. Let me point out something that Ken Henderson made me realize. There needs to be a bottom piece for the blinds to rest on when they are down. This will help keep the heat and cool air where you want it. Teri built our's out of wood. We did not see the need for the bottom piece. Now we do and plan to add it. If you spend any winter time in your coach you will notice cool air coming in from under the blinds, with no bottom piece.

If you make the sides out of thin plywood so that there is a curve on the outside that matches the curve of the wall then the shade will be held closer to the wall. The bottom of the sides can be made close to the width of the bottom rail to minimize the air gap and there won't be much air flow through the small gap.

I cut my valances from 6"x6" PVC post covers and covered with vinyl.
