Got this note from Larry Turner on the GMC Classics mailing list. Thought you would find it refreshing.

Quote:

I just received my May 2012 Popular Mechanics yesterday and Jim Kanomata is honored in an article “Brotherhood of the Wrench”. It’s a nice article about “mechanics who show love to cars that manufactures have long abandoned.”

Congrats Jim.

I just looked at a May '12 Pop Mech in a store

I went by a Wal-Mart awhile ago and found the article.
It was a nice piece. As you said, not worth $4.50, though.

I did find out that my iPhone 4s would not make a usable
picture of the pages, though!

Thanks BDub!

I had already read the article while waiting for the wife at the store... but I wanted to look at it again.

One part has me wondering:

Quote:

... and learn exactly how one becomes a nationally recognized authority on Duesenbergs, or the DeLorean DNC-12, or a GMC motorhome produced for five years in the 1970's. Because that last one in particular seem like a career path your high school guidance counselor most certainly would have recommended against.

Is this a dis?

Don,

For $10 per year you can get Popular Mechanix. Use the senior discount.
Well worth 85 cents an issue - even if you are reading about cans a
tomatas!
