Wasn't there a Mercedes coach at Shawnee. Doubt it was one of these interiors, but I didn't get a look.

Yes, Don. There was one there. It has become a very common platform used by several RV manufacturers for class B, B+, and C. Their most attractive feature is claimed fuel economy of 15 -19 mpg on Diesel. They are normally somewhat narrow, usuallu topping out at 92 inches (outside). Not to mention (oh, I am just about to) overpriced. The GMC is still the cheapest way to have fun.

Carl,
The New South Wales Caravan, RV and Camping Supershow is on this week and
I'll bring my camera and take some pictures of the Sprinters on display. I
remember the last time I attended there were a couple of them that were
REALLY gorgeous! I ga-ron-tee you WILL be blown away by the price as
Motorhomes are way more expensive here than in the USA.
http://www.supershow.com.au/
Maybe there will be someone selling the Turbo Cool and I can get some data
on it that I can share with the group. :-)
Regards,
Rob M.

Based on some friend's experience, I'd shy away from the Merc 5 cyl Diesel Sprinter chassis. The engines have been somewhat less than reliable, and the ones mercedes didn't fix under warranty are expensive. The newer V-6 diesel doesn't seem to suffer those problems. They just gave an electrician frien the second free engine in his, at 98k miles. Dealer serviced since new. Both instances, engine died due to overboost he says the shop told him. Failed regulator valve (shut) destroyed them

G'day,
Went to the show yesterday but didn't cover the whole show, my left knee was
killing me (don't get old)! I only walked around the parts and accessory
areas. I did pickup a terrific first aid kit. Along with the kit I got a
first aid instruction manual so I'm ready to patch up whatever happens! ;-)
I did find a company selling a 240 watt solar panel setup that seemed to be
pretty small. I reckon you could put at least two of them on the roof of a
GMC without any problems.
I didn't spot any evaporative coolers anywhere so I guess they're not
popular Downunder.
I forgot my camera, so no Sprinter pictures.
Bloody useless ain't I!
Regards,
Rob M.
