Since the bogies are out, I am considering spraying "rhino lining" in the wheel wells.

Thoughts?

The frame on the running coach is in excellent shape. The assembly of the parts coach was a disaster. Grade 3 fasteners on the brake system. Thank you PO

Excuse me for not being my usual wordy and sporadically verbose self. This message is sent from my iPad, which is, in many ways, an iPhone on steroids.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. Few long dead dinosaurs were involved. A large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Dolph,

I intend to use Rhino on my wheel well liners -- BUT mine have a number of breaks, I plan to do the repairs in situ, and my coach is a 73 and has the black plastic? liners -- not the fiberglass liners used in later coaches.

The raptor liner is hard to beat in price quality and ease of use. Scrape loose stuff off , sand with 80 grit da and hose it on. One kit enough to do four wheel wells. Catalyzed so won't get on you later

I was going to do something easier. Power spray the liners, let them dry then paint them flat black with SEM vinyl dye. I wlso want to paint all the visible boggie parts black enamel because I powder coated my steel wheels black and I kind of like the look. Even going to leave off the lone T skirt I have. (Other one was missing).

Sully,

Understand what “Catalyzed” means, but not reference to “so won't get on you later”.

Carl, since the product is catalyzed it cures to a state where it becomes resistant to chemical attack and is more stable than air dry undercoatings many of which are asphalt based. Air dry undercoatings are great because they are Inexpensive and will cling to where they are applied even if the surface is poorly prepared but since they remain gooey forever, end up on your body when you re visit the location later.
Rob, I found it at tp tools with a google search. If someone wants to run out and buy it as opposed to mail order any auto body supply store should carry it. I bought mine from Wesmar as they are cheaper than my paint jobber.

Sully,

http://www.tptools.com/Product.aspx?display_id=2600

1) Is this the kit you purchased?
2) It says it will cover 125 sq ft, that sounds like enough to do four wheel
wells / two GMC's?

I am considering spraying "rhino lining" in the wheel wells.

Thoughts?

I saw some testing of truck liner used as a protective barrior

They had a brick wall, 10 feet away they had explosives.... the detonation left the wall broken, part fell down.

They had a second brick wall, coated with truck liner...
Same amount of explosive, wall did not move, they claim the wall might have cracks in it but it was so sturdy, they climbed on top of it.

Another test was to coat the truck bed with truck liner, sprayed on... One truck had none... they blew up the trucks, the truck with no liner disintegrated. The truck with the liner sprayed on still had an intact truck bed.

This may be a good protection if the tire flys apart, may be able to afford some protection to the body panel as well????

The government started spraying HUMVIES for added protection in IRAQ... There were no testimonials on that but would be great reading if it works as well as the wall/truck test.

Sully,

Thanks for the feed back – It has been a very LONG time since I used spray on undercoating and have forgotten what it was like after it “dried”.

I was thinking of using Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner paint for my wheel wells – Cheap, easy to find, and as it is for truck beds…. Should dry “clean”.
