Would there be any problem in adding some additional fuse boxes next to the original one in the glovebox to provide for additional circuits? I would like to add two, and power them off of the isolator terminals. Then I have one that is tapped into the engine circuitry, and the other in the 12 volt house circuit to use for sounds, TV, etc.. Seems better than just adding additional terminals onto the original fuse box, and allows for the use of blade type fuses.

Here's what I did, one powered off battery, one from ignition, mounted on firewall on passenger side:

I find that all of the wires you need are easier to access from under
the dash. Constant 12V, Switched 12V, Etc.
Found a large blade-style fuse block at a local surplus shop. Came with
a cover but I decided against using it.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=24703&title=cover-panel-test-fit-&cat=4935

When it's all said and done my lower dash filler does the work of a
cover. I remove two screws from the upper lip and it swivels down neatly.

I just think that putting the auxiliary block under the left side dash
makes more sense. I found all my extra wiring is done over there anyway.

George,
That is exactly what I did to power all the extra stuff that is now in the cab. I even moved the dash stereo over to it so I can't kill the chassis battery by leaving it on. I didn't put in a big enough panel. After the stereo, the cell repeater, the GPS power the two DC mouse holes and power for the laptop, I am out again.

These are exactly what I'm thinking of doing, mounting them next to the original fuse panel behind the glovebox.

Thanks for the pics!

I added one behind the glovebox in my '73 for house powered circuits. I have also added 2 others in other parts of the coach. After coming back to it a few years later... The only thing I can say is...

LABEL EVERYTHING!

I second what Mike said. Get some adhesive numbers/letters from an electronic supplier and label at least the ends of each wire. then WRITE IT DOWN.

Saves mega-frustration later.

I bought a Brother labeler at Office Max for $10 about a month ago and it came with a good-sized sample roll of black on white label material. I just had to buy another roll of a different color and it was about $20 for 26 feet. Easy to use.

That was probably a sale or special but maybe somewhere else?
