I took 4 through the bumper Blaine Merrell trailer hitches to the GMCMI rally. I came back with 2 of them.

So I do not have to transport them back to Blaine's (300 mile round trip), I'm offering them to anyone interested at $50 off with no sales tax and if you pick one up in Northwest Indiana, no shipping. If you want one shipped I'll take it to Fed Ex and ship it Fed-EX ground. That the cheapest way as these weight almost 50 pounds each.

Call me, PM me, or email me if you are interested. If I do not get any takers, I'll cart these back to Blaine's in a week or two so this is not a long term offer.

I would tell you to take one of these but you already have one of these on your coach. I do not know what you would do with the second one.

Could put it on the back of the vdub I guess.
After getting this one I have from Blaine I can't imagine using anything else.

But don't trailer hitches usually go on the front of Volkswagens?

Whoever bought these two hitches, you are going to love them. They mount up and out of the way. You don't know they are there until you need to pull something. Some of you can build your own but not me. I had a rickety old hitch mounted under my bumper that would drag just pulling into our driveway. Visited Blaine and Diane one evening. Before I knew it there was a nice new hitch, coming right through my rear bumper, installed. One time investment. Life is good.

I agree Blaine's hitches are the "best" hitches for a GMC. Unfortunately they will not fit on either of my Birchavens without removing at least on waste tank.

I'll have to stick with a ball on the back of my coach. Sad

Mike,

If you're not towing a heavy-tongued trailer, you can easily make a
through-the-bumper hitch like mine:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=3287

About 3' of 3" angle iron, a receiver tube, and a couple of triangular
gussets, all melted together, are about it.

Nice work.

Maybe I do this on my "keeper" coach. (I would need to get MUCH better at welding of find someone who is.) It would be nice to have the option of using a "RV mount" tow bar.

Mike, I was going to mention Ken's work but he beat me to it. I tend to take mine for granted now but it is just so much nicer having one of these. Print the stuff out on Ken's and find someone to do it for you.

Just a quick thank you to Ken! He met me just off the interstate and I was able to pick up my hitch today - truly a great product and a wonderful individual to help like this.

It's so great to have the GMC community to help us, I can't imagine what it would be like without people like Blaine and Ken!

George, that is why Ken received such an award at GMCMI in Shawnee. He is ready to help anyone at anytime. Glad to have him as a very good friend.
