(I am using the Ozarkian pronunciation).....I will soon be looking at tires for my coach. Back in my Palm Beach days, the Goodyear G159 was the tire du jour amongst the GMC crowd. Now, it appears from me searching the forum, that that is no longer the case. So, please share your favorites. I need tars, errrr TIRES to go with my new Alcoa Classics that Jim K hauled all the way from California to Shawnee for me.
I would sure like to have a domestically produced tire. But maybe that is not possible any more.

Cooper Tires? I think they're still domestic and some list members use them. In the 16" size, you should have you choice of many manufacturers.

Michelin LTX is what I run on both my truck and my coach. I hear the LTX II'S are for our application? I have not seen any yet.
Not sure where they are made.
Best tire for the money in my opinion, and appear to last past their expire date.

Michelin has 2 factories here in Nova Scotia and I'm sure many other places

Before you get too brand crazy, google them and realize who makes what. Many of them are made by the same manufacturer. Stay away from steel sidewalls and look for poly steel or what we call ragwalls.

Jim, I need to replace one of my bfgs immediately due to sidewall damage from poorly routed ebrake cable. I asked tru line for a recommendation for a pair of drive tires as I do not yet have a limited slip front end and much of our camping will require off pavement driving while pulling a 5000 lb loaded weight trailer. They have told me that the tire choices in the current size are limited(16" aluminum Alcoa wheels 225/75). They suggested I move up a size to gain better,less expensive tire choices but I was hoping to keep them all the same and I already have very tight clearance on the front when the flares are installed. I was hoping to get an aggressive tire that was no louder than necessary on the highway. Thoughts?

Todd, You probably didn't have a chance to look at my front tire set-up while doing your whirlwind stop in Shawnee, but here is what I am running:

I put these on for the same reasons you sited:

If you don't want to go up in size, the same tire is available in a 225/75R16 LR-E. People ask me if these tires are noisy, and my answer is essentially no. There is a minor amount of 'sing' on a really smooth concrete road surface, but otherwise I don't hear any annoying noise from the tires.

To further confuse the issue, I'm running Goodyear Wranglers, 245/75s & love them. Good traction, no noticeable road noise & have held up very well.
