What sort of carbs would be used on that manifold?
Does each throat (venturi) feed a single cylinder?
Can you imagine the amount of fuel that would be
sucked by that thing?

Well, he had some Qjets and Holleys sitting on the table, and neither fit, so who knows. Probably some little Edlebrocks.

The ports seemed to share plenums, like our current manifold. I didn't look at it that closely.

Mac,

I'd guess Holley's.

No they feed a plenum.

LOTS!

That manifold was made for Carter AFB's or present day Edelbrock AFB's

...and it's still a dual plane design, like the oem and Rockwell intake - not a single plane or common plenum, such as a Torker for example. And agreed, AFBs.

My thought on this would to be to set it up with dual TBI's using the smaller units from the GM 2.8's or 3.1's.

If the AFB will fit, the ThermoQuad will also.  I suspect it wopuld be abetter choice, properly jetted, due to the heat problems we have withthese coaches.
