Greetings:

A tire question that is sorta GMC related....As in Kumho makes D/E rated tires – Anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, on quality of Kumho tires? – Just looking for some “cheap” commuter tires for my Ranger.

Thanks!

All my experiences with Kuhmo have been positive -- compact auto and
truck. I do not consider these to be cheap tires. They are Korean
made and better than most of the Chinese brands that are cheaper.

Both Rob Mueller and I have Kuhmo KL78's on our coaches. I love them. They have excellent off-road (as in wet grass and mud) traction.

If you want some cheap tires you might ask Dan what he has because he changes his every time the white letters get dirty. He should have a stack of slightly used ones hanging around.

I would have gone with Kumhos, but Discount Tire gave me a deal on fresh Hankooks. In another 7-8 years, I'll be looking again.

A good friend of mine, a megabuck wholesale tire distributor, likes
both Kuhmo and Hankook.

Has few problems with them.

Greetings:

Thanks for everyone’s input – The Kumho’s were considerable less expensive at about all the “outlets” I went to – But never having heard of them, was looking for any thoughts forum members might have had – And that input sounds pretty positive Razz

Also got a pretty good lesson on the limited selection of tires for a Ford Ranger – Most of the places I went said they did not carry them in stock, due to low demand Confused - Oh well, the current set lasted almost 10 years and if the second set last as long…. Will be new truck time! – Maybe “flying trucks” will be available by then Laughing

OK, back to work on getting the inner bogie frame ready for some R&R.

Thanks again,

Carl P.
