Hey All;
Anybody in the Pacific Northwest have any recommendations for RV
Parks around the Seattle area? We would like to get as close as
possible as we will be driving the fiberglass buggys into town and
would prefer to stay off of I-5. This trip will be toward the end of
June and into July (starting at McMinnville, Or., heading north to
Port Angeles, WA and Canada, then back down the coast to Coos Bay,
Or.). Thanks for any info.

Gary, We used to stay at a RV park that was off of Orillo Road near
SouthCenter, just before the 405 cutoff. Just North of the SeaTac cutoff.
About a mile East of I-5. Easy access. Used to be a KOA but is privately
owned now.

I talked with a lady at a recent RV show here in Portland. She manages the KOA close by Boeing and said there are Boeing tours that leave from the camp ground.

Jim,
Have you submitted this info to Byron Songer of the ESGMC so he can put it
in the Travel Guide?

Gary
There are two RV parks just off I-90 about 10 miles east of city center. I drive by them every day and will get a name and # for you. They are both quite spartan but if you are just looking for a base they may work. Will get back to you.

I'll try and look it up and see if it's still there and available. Thanks.

Don't forget the security requirements for crossing from US to Canada and especially back to the US. Here's what Google says.
Under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, a United States passport or other approved WHTI document is necessary for US citizens traveling from Canada to the US. A Canadian passport or WHTI-approved document is required for Canadian citizens coming to the United States. Although Canada only requires an ID and proof of citizenship for entry by U.S. citizens, you will need a U.S. passport or other WHTI document to return home. Other approved documents listed by the U.S. Embassy include a passport card, Nexus frequent traveler card, enhanced driver's license, military I.D. with official travel orders and U.S. Merchant Mariner Document

We stayed in Puyallup, WA for a week last July/August because no other
place was available. Not what we would prefer, but we wanted to be near
SEATAC, Mt. Ranier NP, Tacoma glass Museum, Hood Canal, + Seattle
waterfront. It's an old RV/Court with a good, clear view of Mount Ranier
every nite. Since they didn't collection $ from us until the fourth day,
we discovered the weekly rate was somewhere around $135... We decided we
wanted to finish the week! Did all the things we wanted to do from a very
convenient location. $ changes your perspective. Enjoy! Sandra and Bob
Price P.S. the old KOA was not any nicer than where we stayed.

The first two are just off I-90 so there will be traffic noise, unfamiliar with the third one. Be sure to read the reviews, the first one had good reviews up until April 9/12. I'm sure with the other suggestions you've received you will find a suitable place.

We all will have passports. Will this be enough id for us to get
back and forth? Also, we won't be taking guns (will leave them in the
motorhomes). Thanks again for all of the great recomendations.

Gary, Was that your stretch I saw on the shoulder of I -5 about 5:00 PM
Tues April 10 with a tow truck in front of it? It was some where near
Federal Way Washington. If it wasn't you, I hope they got back on the road
or to a repair shop safely.
