I'm in process on the rear brakes on my coach.
To replace the lines or not to? That is the question.
At the risk of being completely ignorant, I've gotta ask.
The lines have little exterior rust, look good inside, and all (save for one) of the nuts came out.

Hoses: Replace unless you KNOW they have been replaced. (I like JimB's braided hoses.)
Lines: How long do YOU plan on using the coach?
I plan on replacing the ones on my "keeper" coach, but not on the coach I am using today. (Like yours the lines "look" ok.)
Replace with what?
If not in high rust area, steel line have lasted 30 years. There is no reason why new steel lines would not last as long. Up until recently, Stainless, lines would be the choice for high rust areas, but there is now "Poly-Armour" lines <http://www.agscompany.com/faq/10> That seem to be the best choice for most do-it-yourself applications.

My lines were leaking and needed to be replaced. All the leaks were from rust and were located were UNDER the line to frame clamps. Unscrew some of the clamps in the rustier areas and see how the line looks underneath the clamp.

Thanks for all the feedback.
The local parts emporium has Poly-Armour in stock, so I'll be replacing them all.
I picked up the Eastwood flare tool, too.

Dolph -
I like that tool, it looks like it has a lot of capability. Because I use
stainless tubing for most of my projects I like the Mastercool 71300 or more
complete 71475 hydraulic flaring tool which works well in spite of the
work-hardening of stainless steel. I have the 71300 tool and use .028" wall
304L tubing, usually in straight lengths from The Right Stuff Detailing in
Westerville (Columbus), Ohio. The .032" hydraulic tubing that I can get from
local sources is more difficult to double flare.
http://www.toolsdelivered.com/Mastercool-71300-Air-Conditioning-Refrigeration-Tubing-Tools-Flaring-Swaging-Tools
I would recommend a bit of practice before depending on being able to
produce perfect double flares every time. Cutting and preparing the end of
the tubing has a big effect on the flare that is produced. A sharp wheel in
the tubing cutter plus reaming the inside and outside of the square end is
key to success. Plain carbon steel tubing is cheap so practice is not
expensive, that is not the case with stainless.
My plan for your original lines is to take them to The Right Stuff so they
can create a pattern to make lines for the GMC. They have computerized
pattern making and bending equipment and can double flare stainless tubing
in a matter of seconds.
Bob
