Octane of the CNG is even a bit higher than todays gas and very clean on the cylinder cumbustion burn.
>>
>> I spoke (via e-mail)with the Cummins folks and they turned me on to the Nat Gas conversion options for my GMC motor(I assume you all have GMC Motors so yours too), The kit is reasonable cost and after getting the DOT approved tanks (looking at 40 gallon CNG capasity), I am looking at appx 6k...been doing the math and at current prices the ROI is complete after appx one cross Country trip with all the side trips. (I am in Cali).
>>
>> After that I am paying as low as .62 cents per gallon to at most .85cents per gallon for the Natural gas! AND I still can run on that good ole $5 a gallon gas at the flip of a switch! This conversion to Dual fuel is looking mighty good to me right now!
>>
>> I thank GMC highly as it turns out my 1978 403 motor does quite well when converted. Same with the 455's I was told. if I do this on many occasions and I will be able to Roll down the road without being stuck with paying over the 5$ per gallon for fuel! That equals more stakes on the barby and more money for the repairs that I am sure you all will tell me about!!!
>>
>> In closing have any of you folks made the conversion or have any USEFUL info I could use.
