Nice looking GMC on Ebay. I've asked some questions but will be otherwise occupied at the end of the auction and unable to bid.

Place your max bid and forget about it. Don't need to be there anxious and worrying at the close.

I bought our 2nd coach - sight unseen on Ebay. The guy had lots of pics.
Advertised it as 32000 original miles (NOT - actually 132000 miles) the
rest was basically right. Picked it up in in a small suburb of Chicago and
drove to Steve Southworths where he helped me - taxied me around to pick up
fittings and helped install the electronic Brake booster and the small
Alternator link. The tires looked almost brand new - hardly worn - but
dated 2000. Drove to Rapid City S.D.
and replaced the tires. Got stuck a few days earlier in Souix Falls due to
a battery to starter cable being fried while resting up against the exhaust
manifold. When It rained we discovered real fast a number of leaks coming
from above.
Had to wait for a dry time to climb up - chisel (carefully) out all the old
silicone on the seams, around vents, fan units, ladder and clearance
lights. Got home OK other than that.
This was in June of 2011. Since then I had to replace the HWT and the
Fresh Water Tank. I peeled the panelling the guy had glued on with
SILICONE (HAte that stuff) to the louvered cabinet doors. Scrapped and
sanded for days - to get all the silicone residue off, then primed and
painted the doors - look great in a slight off white. Replaced one axle.
INstalled a Macerator. New Generator switch, plugs, filters. So right now
I am into it approx. Nearly forgot - the 20 year old 10 disc CD changer
went on the fritz and installed a new System.
Total - Purchase on Ebay $14500US Dollars (at the time it came to just
less than $14000.00 plus the stuff done to date
you can add another $10,000 (includes the 12% HST we have to pay up here
above the Land of the Free!???.)
I almost forgot to mention the dash air (cooling) has not worked since we
got it - so add another $$$.
Last is the ramp I built - the coach sits on the level and gives me plenty
of space to get under.($3000)
And there will be other things as time goes by.
Am I unhappy - NO! We love the journey and the wonderful new GMC friends.
We just got back from a trip to Disneyland during spring break. Had my
Wife, daughter and 4 teenage granddaughters along. Put the majority up in
Motels. Had a great trip together. How can you put a price on healthy
family development?

Plan to join us in White Rock this August 2 to 6th for a Cascaders Rally
(or come early for a tour of Vancouver Island) following the Rally several
of us are heading for a rolling rally across Canada. Many GMCr's across
Canada have responded with volunteering to host us. Doesn't that sound
great.
Best regards
as you travel near and far in your Classic Coach!

Looks real to me. If were to buy another Coach I think I would find myself
becoming a Full Timer "Alone".
One for the Kitchen and Bath, One for a Living Room and One for a Bedroom.
Possibly I could live rent free on a
Wallmart parking lot. How far do we "stretch this out"
More than content with 2 as long as my children do make use of the one.
(only problem is I insure it and pay for all
maintenance. For the Privileged Generation.

Talking about costs: we bought our 77 Eleganza in 2005 - for $20,000.
Since then we have plunked an additional 20 grand into it. If I were to
sell it now, I might get $15,000 to 18,000 and even that might be a stretch.

I just paid $1.60 per Litre for the gas for my Avanti - I have to burn
94.
That's why I am still working. The Canadian Pension will never allow us to
retire.

In answer to some questions I posed:

"The tires are Michelin 12 ply. I forget the exact model. I will have to check. The RV roof has a rubberized brush applied covering. There still may be some leakage in the front. Te outside is in good condition as are the frame rails. Right now it is stored outside. It's spent most of it life covered. I'll get some pics of the headliner and stuff. Put a new awning on it last Fall."

I'm neither a gambler nor a very good mechanic. No "sight unseen" for me. I'd be sleeping in it alone.

I've bought tons of things sight unseen. The worst the GMC. My flea bay gmc got in over $15,000 in repairs just to get it home! Then it needed to get really fixed! lol

Dwayne...you are right...retirement is a figment of our imagination! I retired once and have since returned to work...seems we live alot longer these days (85+), which means that we had better have a big bank acct. from 65 yrs. to 85. Rolling Eyes
