Currently working on Ken Peterson's GMC and it is equipped with the Version
II Hubler 1 ton as well as some fiberglas front wheel opening flares. As
the mfg did not identify his product, I can only speculate as to when or by
whom they were made. With the combination of spacers, wheels, and tires,
there is interference between the tire and flares. The field expedient
repair is to take the die grinder and a rotary file, and clearance the
flares. This leaves an unfinished edge and looks a bit "jury rigged". Not a
look I would care to have my name associated with, if I could avoid it. The
particular flare has less clearance on the rear of the opening than it does
on the front of the opening. My question is this. Are these flares still
being produced. I was aware of someone named Frank that produced them a
while back, but I have seen pictures of his online, and they do not appear
to have the same contour that these do. But camera angles being different,
It could be the way I am looking at it. I will take and post some pictures
on the photo site and see if they ring a bell with anyone. Thanks in
advance for the info.
