Even though my original Onan ran great it has always been noisy and a shaker--even with the new mounts, ignition, decarburizing, etc. When it started to puke oil at an alrming rate, I decided enough was enough. I bought a very nice Emerald from one of our trusted netters and am prepping it for the install. Tomorrow, the old comes out and I plan on stripping the insulation (even though it looks good) and adding sound effective insulation. The new one will fit laterally or length wise and I haven't made up my mind which way it will go in. If I mount it laterally I will adapt it to the existing slides, but I'm tempted to mount it permanently length wise since it is designed to be a front serviceable unit. Here are the pics so far and for once, I'll try to make a decent picture trail. BTW, i think the old one either blew a front seal or the governor housing loosened up once agian. I will fix it.
