I think that my shower drain trap may be cracked from water freezing in it.
How do I access the trap to either repair or replace it?

Mike, the lower panel of the door opening is removable and should give you enough room for inspection. I believe it is too tight for replacing the p-trap though.

As John has said the panel under the door of the shower is removal. It could be hidden behind the carpet and there are several screws to remove it..It is a tight fit but you can replace the trap if necessary. You need to remove the shower floor drain first loosening the fitting on the trap and then turning the fixture in the shower CCW. I used a set of channel lock pliers putting the handles down in the trap and there are special tools also that you can get at most hardware stores.
