My 76 Palm Beach had been painted years before I bought it. There is corrosion and peeling paint on the aluminium above the stainless steel rub rail that I would like to clean up.

In the 60's all our Marine Corps airplane aluminium fuselage parts were primed with zinc chromate berore painting.
Has anything new been developed for priming raw aluminium in the past 50 years?

I'm not looking to make a show quality paint job; I just want to stop the corrosion and not have the new paint peeling off in the next 10 years.

I will also be painting aluminium window frames which have some bare spots.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks
