I have bought LED lights from http://inspiredled.com/ for the back of
my plasma TV. Mine are 6500 kelvin to provide the proper back light.
They have a wide variety of self adhesive light strips with on/off
switches, etc. They come with 12VDC wall warts, so you could tie them
directly into the 12 volt system. You can customize them to suit your
needs. Some are available in colors.
