When others asked I wasn't paying attention, and now I need to ask.
The cover gasket for the final drive that I picked up this morning is a
Felpro RDS 55034, a one piece thing without a staple holding 2 thinner
pieces of gasket together.
Can the New style be used without any problem or is there a special
preparation required before installation or do I just return it?

Thanks guys

When I changed out my final drive last summer TWICE, the 2nd time it came with a
single piece gasket and it works fine.

Mike,

You may want to read this old thread -- and note the comment about the vent hole in the final drive...

The one piece gasket cannot be wrong.
They were having problems with stapling it backwards.

Does this look like the correct gasket? I too am going to need one soon. I am not sure what the vent maze is supposed to look like.

Probably not. If you look at the face there should be a vent at about the 1:00 position.

Just order one from Jim Kanomsta and it will be the right one.
