Recently there was a post about some nice 12v lights on ebay. I bought them and got them in today. Great lights for the money. It allows my "blue" LEDs to shine much nicer.

Does anyone have any source for 3 Light fixtures to replace the original bathroom ones?

Mr Rad

My OEM bath lights had fallen apart, not enough to even sell, cept for the metal frame that attached to the wall.

Now I have two thoughts about replacement...

First,
I had two ThinLine RV floresent lamps, each had two bulbs in them. I put them on the wall in place of the old incandescent fixtures.
I ALSO found a small led lamp ( nite light ) that I mounted inside each florescent fixture and connected to the floor light switch. When ever the floor lights are on, the bath nite light comes on. When you switch off the floor lamps, the bath nite lights are off as well.

Second,
My thoughts today now look at the LED fixtures. Granted there are not many yet but they are starting to show up.

The florescent lights are great when plugged in at camp. There is a strip of LEDs you can buy, 12v that you can run inside the floresent fixture and switch between the normal flor lighting and the LED lighting - LED lights for booning and minimal power use from the battery. I would still put in the LED night light.

Been there done that.. lol

I am thinking of using the (2) bulb style and just mount them to a painted wood backing. Its weird with all this LED stuff there aren't more lighting fixtures.

Michael. All of our LED fixtures we got from Lowes and HD. They originally
had halogen G4 socket bulbs but Dan Gregg has LED replacements for them all.
If you find a nice style you like check the bulb type. Today there is almost
always an LED equivelent. The "puck" type overhead fixtures come with a
small transformer to drop the voltage to 12 volts. Just throw it away and go
12 volt directly to the fixture. The LEDS have a wide voltage operating
range so any spike you get above 12v ought to be OK. Buying so called RV and
Marine "specific" fixtures is a giant waste of money with so many LED bulb
options out there. As far as the "color" of the light we cannot tell any
difference between the halogen and LED using Dan's stuff. His stuff may cost
you a few bucks more per bulb but it is really good stuff and he stands
behind it.

Thanks

I'm pretty good with the LED upgrades. I have all LEDS now. I never care what base they base I solder rather well. But I can't find to many fixures that I like. I have many 2800K 2.5w LED Bulbs. They have just leads on them. Sometimes I take a old glass bulb and use the base soldering the LED directly into it. I just want to find fixtures that are about the same size as the old bathroom. I don't mind even just using a housing and drilling it out and using LEDS. I may walk the aisle at Lowes again tomorrow to check some out.
I'm there so much for stuff for the GMC one of the ladies there is becoming my personal assistant. Shes super helpful, and always asks me how my project "gmc" is going.

Mr Rad...

I usually look for a particular lamp when I shop, whether it be for the home or the GMC. I wouldn't call it PICKY but rather more design or size consious.

Dan is a great supplier of LED lighting, replacing that incandesant bulb is the best thing you can do. If we can't save on gas, we can save on electricity...

I know that space for the bath lamps is pretty small, the lamp needs to be really thin so a lot wont take the place of the OEM.

Depending on how much work you want to get into, you can take your time and come up with some great ideas.

I suggested before the Thinline ceiling lamps with the two floresent bulbs... and those bulbs can be replaced with LED.

Or you can cover the hole with some decorative wood and place 2 or 3 puck style LED lamps on each side.

There is a company making a strip of leds, I know All Electronics Corp has them and if your not using a ton of them, they are priced ok and they cut to size.

look down the list for the roll of warm white or neutal white led on the roll-you can get any length you need. If you get the thinline lamp, I'd get a length of led for each lamp, the length of the bulb.

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/category/340/LEDs/1.html

or if you are into indirect lighting, you can put decorative wood or maybe buildin a nice shelf where the old lights were, and put the lights on the back side, out of sight, on each side. I don't remember if the top of the sink space has a ledge to hide a strip of leds but you could put a strip of LEDs inside a shelf track and glue to the top aimed down. that would be a lot of light.

Be imaginative Mr Rad. You can do better than the original GM lights on your own and it'll cost less than a new fixture.

Good luck

EDIT-----
Here is the site for ThinLite
They show most of the line, many that are not readily seen in the stores.

I may try to make the backing out of wood and seal it. I'm not the best wood worker but I'm learning and may give it a try!

There is a plethora of new cool LED light infiltrating us from China with more every day.  I have given up recommending any specific one, a new one cheaper popps up every day.  New replacement bulbs are the same.  Good luck, just do a Google search and buy what you find.  Remember, wait a day, the price will be less...

These new things really are neat and getting better
