I did tons of research on wind turbines yet far super far from a expert. The Chinook 200 I'm really pleased with its quality. After tons of research and tons of negative info on the forum about them made me really think of why people were saying what they say. If everyone speaks negative that never stops me from doing what I want to do. But if they are saying something negative they may have some sorta points to learn from.
Wind seems to be the least bang for the buck. Solar is by far dollar for dollar much better. Wind turbines produce energy but there are so many variables its hard to pick one. Most high rated turbines only produce their wattage at just the right wind speed nothing less, nothing more. I've seen a lot of these Coleman types produce 2 +/- amps of dc current at 30 mph winds! Calling, talking to wind turbine engineers picking one was way harder then finding solar panels. The Chinook 200 (produces up to 300 watts) its built like a monster. I was shocked to see the housing be such quality. The company is located in the USA and answers emails on the weekends even. There are tons of Wind Turbines at cheap prices promising big gains. It seems that seldom are they even remotely producing what they claim. Quality, housing, and low performance made me stay away from ones like this.

west marine has good ones according to my boat friends. Most the time if there is no sun there is wind so they
give one coverage at all times between them > most the time. you could have one work as you drive from the
wind from the driving speed as well. it could also pressurize by windmill an air tank that would store the energy in a tank
of compressed air that could be used for work.

Where we camp its usually fairly calm during the day and really windy at night. I bought a Blue Sky Controller that will allow me to use both the solar and wind at the same time. While I'm not expecting the wind turbine to do most of the work, I'm fairly sure if will be nice to compliment the solar array. I took out my generator today, and almost ready to roll!

yep!, http://www.everymilesamemory.com/solar_tips_facts_tricks_page.htm
i like this guys set up. all solar no generator. wind, leds, recharging batteries for lights AAA, interesting.
motor cycle, its a trailer but so is the gmc but no hitch. lots of wind here by the beach in l.a. lots of thieves as well.
lots of sun. he has a window shade that you can see out but not in - in the day time. keeps it cool inside better than awning he states.
two water filters, i see nothing for cold food storage. he sees solar needed to tilt for sure. wind can be attached to rear bumper inlet.
the world is full of losers for the planet is ultimately a death trap, but best to ignore it till the last minute.
be a human solar cell, huh! If you leave it locked with a cover over it, this means your gone. i saw a gmc at the beach
the other day went to knock on the front window, it had covers on all the windows inside i did not know if the person was
there or not. this is a good design to not allow anyone to know if you are home, inside, you may be sleeping and get shot
if they wake you or something in that mind set may be safer than leaving it with a full cover on it. all day. ?/>< :0(

My solar panels are bolted to the roof, and the carrier is locked. If you try to get in to steal something, I've usually got this guy or one or two of his get in the coach:

Are there any semi-flexible panels, that might mold to the roof's curve? I like to idea of a solar panel to maintain the battery pack, but dislike the flat pan on the roof look.

There are a lot of flexible panels. But if your just looking for battery maintenance you can simply use a small unit. It doesn't take much for a trickle charge type panel.

Try looking on the interent.
There are a couple of fleible solar panels. I think it started with the marine industry, that's where I first saw them.
Recently I saw one that was totally flexible and quite long.
If you are looking at these, make sure you check the output wattages. if I remember right, they don't compete well with the solid panel models.
