I want to put my site and just load on another site from a file and be able to put all the weird crap
i like on when i want and drag and drop and load pictures, video and re-publish without any thought about it.
\
I love iweb i could drag and drop and publish. I am just working so hard my brain is fried for now.
I think i can just ftp the file to go daddy, i have till june to find something to do. I have 3 other sites that
i forward to the one. yahoo, earthlink, and something else i forgot what i did. dam apple has to drop iweb.
S&M internet. but i love apple. so i think i can still keep iweb off line and load it on another. i will get there
but i have to think and i hate that some times. I want to do the most modern and do more with less design.
maybe google. google means the number 1 with a hundred zeros after it. fini.

what i do is make a small site on the major sites and then forward them to the off site that is built - forward hyperlink to it.
So i sort of make a fake one on yahoo, earthlink and i need one of google i guess and forward them to my iweb page
that is ftp'ed up on muse that is the main site that i can build without computer language. that is what i think i am trying to do next.

Lucky Marble http://www.i3dthemes.com/ has a great number of web templates
that you might find useful. You can use Adobe Dreamweaver (expensive) or
Expression Web 3 Microsoft (not so expensive). You generally get WYSIWYG on
just about everything if you use html. ihtmal and psp are a different
story. They have excellent tech support, tutorials and their templates are
well documented. Even beyond your first year, you can re-download your
template for free. I have better results using ftp (free) for uploads
rather than using Expression Web 3 for the uploads. Here is a simple site
http://www.daygotours.com/ that looks sophisticated.

I recently put together a website using Inmotion. The price was excellent
and it was easy to get competent tech support folks on the phone.
I used one of their standard templates with the "free" Plesk premium website
builder. It wasn't very accommodating whenever I deviated from the template
but I was usually able to do what I wanted after some trial and error (tech
support was no help when I thought outside the box). I expected a wysiwyg
type developer tool where one could basically cut and paste content -
something like PowerPoint or Word. Instead I had to repeatedly modify and
then "publish" the web pages to see what the finished product would look
like. It often took several iterations to get text and graphics placed
correctly in the web page. In the end I also had to do some html coding for
a couple of details. For example the Google map function was only licensed
for an outdated version. To get the latest Google map required research to
find the code and then some html editing. Not a big problem (since I have
many years experience with various coding languages) but it
was definitely annoying.
They also have another tool for building websites but I haven't used it.
When I asked their tech people which developer tools they used it was
usually Adobe Dreamweaver.
If you just want to port an existing website I understand that they also do
that and their basic hosting price is very competitive.

FWIW the site we're currently designing is built on the Wordpress platform,
and hosted on GoDaddy. Wordpress has been super easy, even for a noob like
me. Lots of plug ins do things we need.
