Talking with old time GMC'er, Ed Larid and he has a spare transmission is storage that he kind of needs to get rid of.

It was rebuilt in the "80's or 90's" by Dunn Transmission. It was never installed and was put in storage (lean-to shed under a tarp) at a shop in Phoenix.

I am told it has the early Toro final drive, but he also said he had installed the same thing in his current coach and did not have to change any axles parts. (I understand the 3.21 uses different parts to get to the passenger side axle.)

Ed is positive it has lower gearing than stock but is a little unsure of the exact ratio.

I have never "set eyes" on this transmission.

He says it is OK to give out his contact info:

Ed Larid -- 1-Four Eight Zero-751-Seven Thousand

He also is selling his coach and Excalibur that he has used for a towd:

I saw Ed last week and bought some wheels from him. He still has this transmission and I would expect it to go fairly cheap.

I wonder if it would still be something one could put in a coach and expect it to operate properly? If so, one of the Az. folks should grab it. Is he in Havasu or where?
See you this weekend Mike.
