If the body pads in the rear were about 1-7/16" thicker than the ones at the front, and the ones in between ranged in thickness to make the floor flat, wouldn't that make the vehicle look level going down the road when the ride height is set to spec?
Has anyone ever definitively established why the front is supposed to be higher than the rear?
If only because of caster, this should preserve it.
If it has something to do with ariflow to cool the engine or something, then this might mess it up.
And before someone else brings it up, I know it would require work on the plumbing.

Mark,
Yes, I guess you could custom cut pads to do what you want to do.
AFAIK no one has ever proven why the GMC was setup to ride tail low.
If you set the front suspension to the spec you will find that the axles are straight / parallel to the ground.
If you set the rear suspension to the spec you will find that you can draw a line from the center of the rear spindle through the
rear suspension arm pivot point in the bogie through the front suspension arm pivot point in the bogie through the center of the
middle spindle.
Personally I suspect that the GMC's that look like low riders in the back don't have the ride height set correctly. As you noted the
1 7/16 inches ain't much and probably hard to see over the length of the GMC.

Rob M.

Keep in mind if you raise the body off the frame higher then stock in the rear you will need to lower the holding tank a like amount or you will split the tank in the area of the dump valve.
