Netters,
A while back I bought a set of drill bits from fellow GMCer Ken Booth (Top
Gun Tool in Havasu City, AZ). I took his word for it that they're the best
drills he's ever used. Background: I drill a lot of holes. Repairing
those old crusty, rusty lower control arms requires using up a lot of
standard 5/16 and 3/8 bits and I've been through a ton of them. Enter
Norseman Magnum drill bits. I was so impressed with these that I ordered
another full set from Ken before he shut down his business completely.
Yesterday was the toughest test yet. I mounted 4, 5' sections of Etrack
to my auto trailer. Each required 60 holes to be drilled in the 1/4" steel
diamond plate runners on my trailer. One bit made it through 180 holes
before my grip on the drill tired and I moved off center while breaking
through. The bit didn't break, it bent. On every hole I was using max
speed and max feed so all of the chips were blue. The bit was so hot after
just a couple holes you could smell the paint burn everytime I indexed to a
new hole. These things are AWSOME and if you're looking for the last set
of bits you'll ever buy, I recommend you buy a set.
Oh, I forgot to mention that all the bits have three ground flats on them
so there is never any chuck slippage and they always go back in the hole in
the index they came out of. Incredible drill bits!
