The following are two pictures of the Lowes display explaining and
showing LED lights for comparison. Helps take the mystery out of
Kevins, lumins, etc. I replaced a fluorescent light fixture yesterday
over the house cooktop with an undercounter LED fixture. No more
hearing the buzz through my hearing aid any longer. <G> Hopefully
will never have to change the bulb or fixture ever again and pleased
with the light output.

An interesting bit of info I found from my uncle who it happened to, was that a screw in flouresent bulb put in over one of the new computerized stoves will wreak havoc on the programming in it. He learned this after the service call to his house and all the tech did was change the bulb back to incadesent and it straigtened out, just thought I might save someone some grief with that knowledge.

Thanks Roger. I have changed almost all of our "house lights" to leds. Our home is condusive to led lighting, not all homes are, without changing a lot of fixtures. My personal choice in color is 3-3500 K. The "daylight", at 6000, is too "blue" for my liking. Nearly all of these lights seem to be produced in China. I have made a friend out in LA who is a big seller of the bulb type lights. He has them made in China, I think, but at least some of my money stays in the USA. His are the best I have found and I am using his. Those for the table lamps are harder to find, in the USA and abroad. I am still experimenting with them and waiting for a "boat to arrive". They are called "corn bulbs" as they use small leds placed all around for 360 degree lighting. I have a 10 watt corn bulb in my lamp here now. It is fine but I want a little more. Have ordered 2 12 watts with about 1180 lumen of lighting. If I am not happy I will take a "2 in 1 fixture" and use 2 6 or 8 watt bulbs in the lamp. I have spent a good bit of money on these but I will tell you our January electric bill was 30 dollars less than normal. Not enough time to be sure the leds are the cause but will keep watching the monthly bills and compare to last year. These things have come a long ways in the last 3 years. The ones I sell for our coaches will surprise anyone who looks at them. Feel free to come over after dark in Shawnee. With the covers on you won't know they are led lights.

Dan,
My preference is the 3500 K, and have been looking for 900+ lumen bulbs.
If you are happy with the 1180 lumen bulb, and if the color is close to 3500 k, and if the price is right, I need a half dozen or so of them.

Well, I am speaking of the "corn bulbs". Still waiting on them and plan to file a complaint with ebay tomorrow if they do not arrive. Complaints do not make Chinese happy but it is only way I get responses from them. I will let you know how I like them when I get two. These are hard to locate, for me. I can get smaller or larger "corn bulbs" but the 12 watters with propper soft to warm lighting are hard to get. Also, many to most are for 220 volts.
If you want information on the regular 9 watt bulbs I use in the ceiling lights just email me and I will put you in touch with my friend in LA. I don't sell home lights, just those for the GMCs.
