We returned home from the Saguaro Jetset rally at the Pinal County Fairgrounds, just outside of Casa Grande, AZ. at about noon today. This capped off a 1,300 mile trip to the California coast, including stops in Quartzsite, Simi Valley, and Lompoc. The GMC performed nearly flawlessly except for a PO installed makeshift water line, back by the pump, that sprung a leak in Quartzsite on the way back. Thank goodness for "Rescue Tape", I will hopefully remember to fix it permanently before the next rally.

The rally marked the 35th year of the GMC Saguaro Jetset, and was attended by 14 GMC coaches and 7 or 8 S.O.B.s. It was a great turn-out which included brand new members, Jim and Nancy, from Tucson, who were on their very first outing with their recently acquired '77 Kingsley, and several potential new members, including Chris C, from Scottsdale. The hosts were Marie Solace and Tom Bradley, who did a bang up job of arranging a luncheon in Casa Grande on Saturday, with lots of former members in attendance.

A great time was had by all at the fairgrounds where a bluegrass festival, car show (featuring Steve Ferguson's '50 Ford) and a tractor pull were going on. Great food too! Chris commented, this morning, that he could see "nobody goes hungry at these things, do they". Anyone who lives in the area, or former members that missed this one really missed a fun event.
