I had time today to post the 2010 GMCWS presentation that contains a couple of slides that show the details of the self storing table. You can download, "Yes, you can reliably take your GMC on a cross country adventure", from my web site http://jerrywork.com. Go to the GMC page and scroll down for the .pdf file. It can be posted on any relevant GMC web site with proper attribution.

We did a quick scan of the vendors at Quartzite today and as I expected there are tons of people offering what look like quality LED lights and who knows solar panels along with the normal flood of magic elixirs, folding chairs and cleaning supplies. Most of the LED vendors knew the importance of proper voltage control and the need to offer pleasing color temperatures of these LEDs. Prices have come down a lot from two years ago when we were here last. Intensities are increasing to the point that it is not hard to find replacement bulbs that rival the incandescent or halogen bulbs being replaced whether you are looking for 12vdc bulbs for your GMC or 120vac for your home. The solar panel folks generally still seem unable to articulate the technology used in the panels they sell and many struggle to explain correctly why one panel is better or less good than another so buyer-be-ware is still alive and active there. Lots and lots of really quiet generators from both known
and unknown brand names. So far, nothing really new that we have not seen before.

We look forward to moving over to the rally sites tomorrow and to seeing many old friends from the GMC Pacific Cruisers club again. Weather is good, warm in the daytime and quite cool at night.

Hey Jerry;

Any of them telling you how they are doing this? Just adding more
LEDs to the package? Are they using more current? Are they hotter? I
think everyone wants more light, but if the current usage is getting
close to incandescent then what's the point? Just wondering if anyone
is asking...

I really would love to get my hands on some inexpensive soft white, really low amp draw LEDs. The ones I see may work are really expensive. Mine were cheap but the blue color is horrible.

I will have to post pictures of the new led options available from Neutek. Current really is not an issue with LED's. The new technologies in LEDS allows us to add as many leds as you want to achieve the amount of light you desire.

What I like is that we can now offer a replacement strip of LED's to replace your refrigerator bulb. It makes my fridge look very modern!

I will be in Quartzsite in the LED booth from tomorrow on. Stop by and say hi Smile

Heat is not part of the LED solution Smile

The little I have learned of LED's is they need to be SMD 3 circuit or they have a very blue tinge . Also check the max voltage rating. The ones I have seen at Quartzite look similar to the ones I put in my coach but all seem to be more expensive. Mine are on the brighter side rather than the yellower color. More like a cool florescent light (not blue). The whole interior cost around $160. That doesen't include the cab or reading lights.
