Hi,

We are sadly selling our GMC as we leave for LA then NZ in about a week - I've just dropped the price to 7,000 on http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120840990090#ht_500wt_966 because we're a little desperate - I mentioned before we have to sell as we need the money, otherwise we would leave it with friends as we will be back!

I just entered our GMC VIN: TZE063V100850 at www.autocheck.com and it said "VIN cannot be less then 17 characters".

When I tried it through the DMV.org's autocheck portal it comes back with: "You entered an invalid VIN: TZE063V100850 - Your VIN needs to be: Exactly 17 characters; For a vehicle manufactured after 1980; Without the letters I, O or Q"

Are there any additional letters/numerals missing - I guess it's just because it's pre 1981? Is there a better place to direct prospective buyers, so they can verify it's legit - looks pretty bad when it comes up with: "You entered an invalid VIN: TZE063V100850"

Thanks!
JP

The second one has your answer: Your coach was made before 1980. NONE of the big companies will track anything with a VIN that old.

No CarFax for you!

JP,

In Michigan they get by with padding the real VIN with 000. Then it has 17 as it expects.

Also, you picked a wrong time both of the year and in the economy to sell a coach, I would advise you to start looking for other sources of cash to get back to NZ on schedule.

Matt
