Imron is still readily available. It is no more expensive than other top line commercial automotive paint systems. The current version is called imron 5.0. Color selection is much more limited than what is available in other paint systems. All automotive paint systems are poisonous/toxic/bad for you. Isocyanates are in almost all topcoat(clear coat) systems. There is no way to filter them out. The only way to prevent inhalation of them is a supplied air system. Isocyanates are also quickly absorbed through the skin/eyes and mucous membranes.

I put imron 5.0 on the roof of my coach because it was available in single stage(no separate clear coat) metallic and I did not want to paint the roof again. Ever.

Hello,
Interesting stuff on Imron paint, and other issues.
Scary that killing thousands of people, i never what to live anywhere near, a chemical plant thanks very much...
So guess i have Imron on my 77. It does polish up rather good, for 30 year old paint..... Would like to get it replaced with a paint as good as Imron. Last i heard about IMROM paint was "IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE".

Was trying to imagine a guy in a space suit, spraying a GMC 8).

cheers and beers
