Well i replaced my sliding valve on my recirc toilet because the old one was sticking and leaking. The new one i got from thetford bolted right up but now it doesnt sit in the flange on the floor. Its about a half inch too tall. The new valve seems to be a bit taller than the old and is made entirely of plastic where as the old had a metal backing. I was wondering if anyone else ever encountered this issue and what did they do to corect it?

PS happy new year every body!

The valve for Electra Magic Thetford changed -- but I can no longer find the parts list that has the old valve number. That older style valve was still available about a year ago.
There are some Thetford valve rebuild kits that might help. Adding the the height of the feet might work -- but then the skirt would have a gap at the bottom.
... that's all I can offer.

Shan,
I recently replaced my Electra Magic recirculating toilet. It worked fine and I left it at Miguel's MGM GMC in Montclair.

You are welcome to the whole thing or any parts that you can use.
Call Miguel; he may have dumped (no pun intended) it already.

Well I was hoping to make the valve work since i did pay like $50 for it. I cant believe how much Thetford wants for the recirc toilet. I took mine apart to clean it and its redoculosly simple.. i guess boosting the legs with some pvc is my best option. Dont really care about the gap as it makes it easier to clean under the toilet Smile

Good thing you didn't pay for a new thunder mug. The new ones do not work
half as well as the older units.

Yeah i have no idea how they can justify charging $600 for a recirc toilet. Its basically a bucket with a pump and a seat. The Techma toilets however are nice and have a built in masceration system. If i upgrade it will be to that toilet then i can pump to a separate black tank.
